Bio
Geneva Winters found her love of movement through growing up dancing both modern and ballet methods.  It was that passion for movement and the body that led her to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.  She attended Goucher College and received her Bachelor of Art in Dance Science in 2015.   She then went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2018.   Geneva was eager to continue her focused studies of orthopedics and dance medicine and sought out opportunities to grow her knowledge.  While in her Doctorate program she completed a clinical affiliation with Dr. Carrie Cameron to focus on her dance medicine specialization.  She completed her dissertation in the study of cardiovascular endurance of college dancers, which she later went on to present at the Performing Arts Medical Association conference in 2017.

Geneva has remained in the Reno area after her graduation, working in the outpatient physical therapy setting.  She has also focused her continuing education pursuits on studying the McKenzie method taking several courses in their spine series.  Geneva’s clinical approach is a belief in listening to the patient to create a personalized treatment that meets their individual goals.  She draws from her knowledge of exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and manual therapy techniques to help the patient return to their activities.  Geneva has experience in outpatient orthopedic settings, working with patients ranging from high-level athletes and dancers, and the pediatric and geriatric population.  To fundamentally improve the patient’s quality of life, she treats a variety of orthopedic conditions, focusing on root causes of the condition as opposed to treating the symptoms.

Originally from Arizona, Geneva is establishing herself in the Reno area where she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and line dancing.
